There are several ways to get traffic, some free and some paid. The free methods take more time than the paid methods, but both can work very well for you.
In this post I’m going to focus strictly on the free stuff. Nothing against PPC or anything, but not everyone has the funds to execute paid campaigns.
Here are 5 proven ways to get more traffic to your site. They’ve worked for me and they can work for you.

High quality content gets Google spiders crawling and people online sharing and linking; both of which are exactly what you want and need to happen to every post. Catch is, you need amazing content, not that kinda sorta stuff.
Takeaway: Killer Content = Tons of Traffic

Finding the right keyword can be the difference between 10 visitors and 1000 visitors from search engines. Take the time to do keyword research and find a few (maybe 5) that work well with your niche.
Use these keywords throughout your blog but make sure you don’t keyword stuff or Google will penalize you. Find a keyword density that fits your site, it’ll usually depend on the word count of your posts.
Takeaway: SEO is an absolute MUST

3. Social Media

A great to extend tend the reach of your posts then you need to active on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Google +.
Not only should your be building an engaged community but you be linking too. Add social sharing button to all your post and encourage readers to share. The effects of social media alone can be massive.
Takeaway: Loyal Followers = Loyal Traffic

4. Networking

This may seem unnecessary or archaic now that everyone lives behind computers screens but old fashion networking really works.
Online relationships are great but if you can actually connect with some of these individuals in the real world then it takes a “basic” relationship to a new level.
Attend meetups, conferences, or arrange short lunches. Whatever you do make sure to make a real life meeting apart of the equation.
Takeaway: It’s not who you know, it’s who knows you.

5. Guestpost

Everyone wants and needs additional exposure. The type of exposure that builds credibility and can grow ones following and popularity; guestposting provides this type of exposure.
Guestposts can single-handedly sky-rocket your traffic and establish you as an authority in your niche. When you guestpost your are providing value (content) to a knew audience; a good portion of which will go check out your site.
